Gribthorpe is a hamlet in the civil parish of Foggathorpe, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 8miles north-east of Selby and 5miles north of Howden.

In 1823, Gribthorpe (also known as Gripthorpe), was in the civil parish of Bubwith and the Wapentake of Harthill. Population at the time, including the nearby hamlet of Willitoft, was 145, with occupations including four farmers.[1] Gribthorpe was formerly a township in the parish of Bubwith,[2] in 1866 Gribthorpe became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Foggathorpe.[3] In 1931 the parish had a population of 23.[4]
