In 2014 he contested the local body election and was elected as MPTC member from Singupuram as a Telugu Desam Party candidate.

In 2024, he was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly from Srikakulam constituency with 60.90% votes as a Telugu Desam Party candidate.
