Giovanna Hoffmann (born 20 September 1998) is a German footballer who currently plays for RB Leipzig.
She began her career playing for the local sports club SC Lehe-Spaden. In 2012, she joined the youth setup of Werder Bremen. In October 2014 she made her debut in the senior team. After missing the whole season 2015-16 due to an ankle fracture, she made her comeback in September 2016[1] to win that season's second-tiers championship with Bremen, which meant the promotion to the Bundesliga. From March 2018 on she had to pause again due to ongoing health problems.[2] [3]
In February 2020, her transfer to SC Freiburg to the upcoming season was announced.[4] [5] However, from October 2020 on, she again missed several months due to a ruptured cruciate ligament. Her biggest success with Freiburg was to reach the final of the 2023-24 cup competition.[6]
In the summer of 2024, she joined RB Leipzig.[7]
