Garu Rural District (Persian: دهستان گرو) is in Kuhsarat District of Minudasht County, Golestan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Safiabad.
After the 2006 National Census, Kuhsarat Rural District was separated from the Central District in the formation of Kuhsarat District, which was divided into Garu and Sar Gol Rural Districts.
At the time of the 2011 census, Garu Rural District's population was 11,081 in 2,993 households.[2] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 11,025 in 3,266 households. The most populous of its 11 villages was Dowzeyn (now a city),[3] with 5,737 people.[4]
