Gargalianoi (Greek, Modern (1453-);: Γαργαλιάνοι) is a town and a former municipality in Messenia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Trifylia, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] The municipal unit has an area of 122.680 km2.[2] It is situated 4km (02miles) from the Ionian Sea coast, 18km (11miles) north of Pylos, 21km (13miles) south of Kyparissia and 43km (27miles) west of Kalamata. The Greek National Road 9 (Patras - Pyrgos - Pylos) passes through the town.
