History

The band was started in Neunkirchen, Saarland in 2008 by brothers Philip and Lukas Wilhelm and Benedikt Veith when they still attended school. The first line-up was completed by Matthias Hansen and Marius Meinecke. The band started musical activities with the release of two songs and a few concerts like the band's appearance at 2012's Halberg Open Air.[1] [2]

In 2016, keyboardist Marius Meinecke left the group which started to work professional a year later. After a second line-up change From Fall to Spring consists out of Philip and Lukas Wilhelm who both are vocalists and guitarists of the group, third guitarist Sebastian Monzel, keyboardist Simon Triem, bassist León Arend and drummer Benedikt Veith. In 2017, the band released their debut EP A Better Tomorrow which was released and produced without the help of a label. A second EP was released two years later under the name of Disconnected. It was planned that the group was to tour throughout Germany as supporting act for Fight the Fade in May 2020[3] but the tour got cancelled due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions set by the German government.

In September 2021, the group signed a contract with German label Arising Empire and released several singles afterwards.[4] [5] In Summer of 2022 the group played several music festivals in Germany like Pell Mell Festival and With Full Force.[6] [7] The musicians announced via social media plattform TikTok to have applied for the qualification for the national finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool with their song Draw the Line.[8] The band received the second mosts votes on TikTok voting behind German schlager musician Ikke Hüftgold who later was runner-up in the national finals tied with singer-songwriter Will Church.[9] [10] The group announced that they would apply for the national finals of Eurovision Song Contest next year but were declined after they officially applied.[11] [12] From First to Fall released their debut album entitled Rise on 14 April 2023.[13] The album ranked at number 73 in the German Album Charts.[14]
