Fontanières (in French pronounced as /fɔ̃tanjɛʁ/; Occitan (post 1500);: Fontanieras) is a commune in the Creuse department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in central France.

Geography

A farming village and a couple of hamlets situated some 19miles northeast of Aubusson, at the junction of the D24, D25 and the D996 roads. The commune has an eastern border with the department of Allier and is served by a TER railway.
