Flint Energies is an electric membership cooperative serving customers in central Georgia, providing residential and commercial electricity service to approximately 91,000 customers in portions of Bibb, Chattahoochee, Crawford, Dooly, Harris, Houston, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Muscogee, Peach, Schley, Talbott, Taylor, Twiggs, and Upson counties, including Fort Moore.[1] Founded in 1937 as Taylor County Rural Electric Membership Cooperative,[2] the cooperative's headquarters is located in Reynolds although the vast majority of its customers today are in the Warner Robins metropolitan area. The cooperative's current name reflects location of the co-op's service area along the Flint River.
In 2022, Flint Energies entered a partnership with Conexon Connect to provide fiber-to-the-home broadband service to 31,000 homes and businesses primarily in rural portions of its service area, supported by federal grants.[3] [4]
