Flight Risk is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Mel Gibson and written by Jared Rosenberg. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Topher Grace, and Michelle Dockery.
Flight Risk is scheduled to be released in the United States by Lionsgate on October 18, 2024.
An FBI agent takes an informant to be testified when he is accused of getting involved with a mob boss, only to discover that the pilot who is transporting them is also a hitman that had been sent to assassinate the informant. After they subdue him, they’re forced to fly together after discovering that there are others attempting to eliminate them.
In December 2020, Jared Rosenberg's screenplay Flight Risk was voted onto the year's "Black List" of the most-liked unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.[1] [2] In May 2023, it was reported that Mel Gibson would direct and Mark Wahlberg would star.[3] In January 2024, Topher Grace and Michelle Dockery joined the cast.[4]
Principal photography began in Las Vegas in June 2023.[5] Filming occurred for two days in Mesquite, Nevada in July 2023. Filming also took place in Alaska.[6] SAG-AFTRA granted the filmmakers approval to allow filming during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.[7] Filming concluded in August 2023.[6]
