Firebird Z-One Explained

The Firebird Z-One is a German single-place, paraglider that was designed and produced by Firebird Sky Sports AG of Füssen in the mid-2000s. It is now out of production.[1]

Design and development

The Z-One was designed as a beginner glider. The models are each named for their relative size.[1]

Variants

Z-One S
  • Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its 9.731NaN1 span wing has a wing area of 26.8m2, 40 cells and the aspect ratio is 3.98:1. The pilot weight range is 60to. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
    Z-One M
  • Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its 10.191NaN1 span wing has a wing area of 28.6m2, 40 cells and the aspect ratio is 3.98:1. The pilot weight range is 80to. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
    Z-One L
  • Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 10.71NaN1 span wing has a wing area of 30.39m2, 40 cells and the aspect ratio is 3.98:1. The pilot weight range is 100to. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
