Firebird Sub-One Explained

The Firebird Sub-One is a German single-place, paraglider that was designed and produced by Firebird Sky Sports AG of Füssen in the mid-2000s. It is now out of production.[1] [2]

Design and development

The Sub-One was designed as a beginner glider and intended for the school market for use in flight training. The models are each named for their relative size.[1] [2]

Variants

Sub-One S
  • Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its 11.151NaN1 span wing has a wing area of 25.48m2, 35 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.88:1. The pilot weight range is 60to. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
    Sub-One M
  • Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its wing has an area of 28.09m2, 35 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.88:1. The pilot weight range is 80to. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
    Sub-One L
  • Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its wing has an area of 30.83m2, 35 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.88:1. The pilot weight range is 100to. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
