Firebird Grid Explained

The Firebird Grid is a German single-place, paraglider that was designed and produced by Firebird Sky Sports AG of Füssen in the mid-2000s. It is now out of production.[1]

Design and development

The Grid was designed as an intermediate glider. The models are each named for their relative size.[1]

Variants

Grid S
  • Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its 11.361NaN1 span wing has a wing area of 24.41m2, 50 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.29:1. The pilot weight range is 65to. The glider model is DHV 1-2 certified.[1]
    Grid M
  • Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its 11.91NaN1 span wing has a wing area of 26.77m2, 50 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.29:1. The pilot weight range is 80to. The glider model is DHV 1-2 certified.[1]
    Grid L
  • Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 12.441NaN1 span wing has a wing area of 29.23m2, 50 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.29:1. The pilot weight range is 100to. The glider model is DHV 1-2 certified.[1]
