Ficus bhotanica is a plant in the genus Ficus native from East Himalaya to South China and Myanmar. It is a tree by growth habit.[1] It's common name is Christmas fig.[2]
This species produces aerial roots and dark green oak-leaf shaped foliage with serration on some but lacking on some leaves. The berries are round and greenish to red .[3]
This species used to be known as Ficus gasparriniana var. laceratifolia before it's name was changed to Ficus bhotanica. This name is still used within some institutions such as NC state University.
