The Women's downhill competition at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2019 was held on Sunday, 10 February.[1] [2] [3] [4]
In the final event of her international career, Lindsey Vonn of the United States won the bronze medal, a half-second behind repeat champion Ilka Štuhec of Slovenia, and Switzerland's Corinne Suter took the silver.[3] [4]
The race course was 1.67km (01.04miles) in length, with a vertical drop of 502m (1,647feet) from a starting elevation of 898m (2,946feet) above sea level. Štuhec's winning time of 61.74 seconds yielded an average speed of 97.376km/h and an average vertical descent rate of 8.131m/s.
The race started at 12:30 CET (UTC+1).[5] Due to the starting point was dropped by 162m (531feet) to the location of the Super-G start, shortening the length by 0.566km (00.352miles) to 1.67km (01.04miles).[1] [5]
