Evan is a city in Brown County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 86 at the 2010 census.[3]
A post office called Evan was established in 1886 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1993.[4] Evan was platted in 1887, and incorporated in 1904.[5] The city was named for the first postmaster's wife, Eva.[6]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.01sqmi, all land.[7]
As of the census[8] of 2010, there were 86 people, 35 households, and 20 families residing in the city. The population density was 85.1PD/sqmi. There were 43 housing units at an average density of 42.6/sqmi. The racial makeup of the city was 90.7% White, 8.1% from other races, and 1.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.1% of the population.
There were 35 households, of which 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.9% were married couples living together, 2.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 11.4% had a male householder with no wife present, and 42.9% were non-families. 37.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 3.15.
The median age in the city was 36.3 years. 29.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 29.1% were from 25 to 44; 26.7% were from 45 to 64; and 9.3% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 51.2% male and 48.8% female.
As of the census of 2000, there were 91 people, 37 households, and 22 families residing in the city. The population density was 90.6sp=usNaNsp=us.
