Estádio Municipal de Beisebol Mie Nishi () is a sports venue located in the Bom Retiro district of São Paulo, Brazil. It was opened in 21 June 1958 in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Japanese immigration in Brazil.[1] It is under the Department of Sports, Leisure and Recreation of the city of São Paulo and is the only public venue in the country for practicing baseball, gateball and sumo, in addition to a dedicated space for softball practice.[2]
The site is notable for being home to the only sumo training center built outside Japan.[3]
Currently, the 30000m2 site,[4] is used for training activities for the elderly, sumo training [5] and free classes on the sports practiced there. In addition, the stadium hosts national baseball tournaments, training for around 20 baseball teams,[6] and also hosts international sumo competitions.
