Erick Portillo (born 5 October 2000) is a Mexico high jumper. He is a multiple time national champion.[1]

Career

He won gold in the high jump at the 2019 Pan American U20 Athletics Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica with a clearance of 2.18 metres.[2] He won bronze at the 2019 NACAC U23 Champiosnhips.[3]

He won gold at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia with a 2.21 metres clearance.[4]

In July 2024, he cleared 2.27 metres competing in Mexico and qualified for the Olympic Games.[5] He subsequently competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.[6]

Personal life

He is from Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua.[7] In 2021, he began tstudy for a degree in physiotherapy at the Universidad del Valle de México, in Chihuahua.[8]
