Emily Hunter Salveson (born 1986) [1] is an American film financier, producer, and entrepreneur. She is the CEO and co-founder of Streamline Global Group, a company that specializes in providing tax equity financing to the film industry. [2]
Emily Hunter Salveson was born and raised in south Orange County. Her father, Kent Salveson, is a tax attorney. Melvin Salveson, her grandfather, invented and patented the credit card. [3] [4] Her great grand-uncle was Gerald M. Loeb, a founding partner of EF Hutton.
Salveson graduated from the University of San Diego in 2009 with a B.A. in English.[5]
Prior to launching her career in film finance, Salveson was a surf instructor and an assistant at a rehab center. She also worked as an assistant at her father's Orange County office and co-hosted a YouTube series, Bath Time TV. [6] In 2015, with her father's help, she co-founded EHS Media Capital. She co-founded Streamline Global Group in 2017. [7] The company focuses on providing tax equity financing to the film industry by bringing in investors who benefit from substantial returns through tax savings. Appearing on a panel at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017, she said: "When I created this financial model, I thought, ‘Is there a way to make it so that the profits of the film are not what define whether the investor makes money or not?’”
Salveson was an executive producer of Rust, which shut down production after Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer, was shot and killed on set. Along with Alec Baldwin, the film's star, and others working on Rust, Salveson was named in a lawsuit brought by Hutchins' family alleging reckless behavior and cost-cutting on the set of Rust led to her death. In addition to Rust, Salveson has served as an executive producer on films including Breathe (2024), Fast Charlie (2023), One True Loves (2023), Supercell (2023), The Pale Blue Eye, (2022),One Way (2022), The Tiger Rising (2022), The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020), The Rack Pack (2018), and Do You See Me (2017).[9]
