Elissa Mielke Explained

Elissa Mielke is a Canadian singer/songwriter[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6],[7] actress, and commercial/fashion model.[8] [9] [10] from rural Dundas, Ontario, Canada[11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] . Mielke lived in Japan and has modeled for companies like Patagonia [17] and is known for starring in The Weeknd's "The Zone" music video featuring Canadian rapper Drake. [18] She acted in Lion Attacks short film Mobius,[19] which was chosen for the Critics' Week section[20] at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. [21] Elissa released her first EP [22] in 2015[23] under the pseudonym "Mieke."[24] [25] In 2021,[26] Mielke released[27] her second EP, "Finally" on Mom+Pop/Slashie labels[28] [29] under her full name[30] [31] [32] .[33] [34] [35] Pitchfork called her voice "an immense ocean of an instrument, as complex in its sweetness as raw honey.[36] " In 2022, Mielke released the single "Paper Moth Flame[37] [38] "[39] [40] which a finalist in CBC's searchlight series[41] .
