Elachista archaeonoma is a species of moth in the family Elachistidae.[1] It was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1889. It is endemic to New Zealand.
This species was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1889 and named Elachista archaeonoma.[2] In 1928 George Hudson discussed and illustrated this species in his 1928 book The butterflies and moths of New Zealand.[3]

Adults have been recorded on wing in December and January.
The larvae of this species are grass leaf miners.[5]
