El Afweyn District (Somali: Degmada Ceelafweyn) is a district in the Sanaag region of Somaliland. Its capital lies at El Afweyn.

Population

The district is inhabited by the Sa'ad Yonis subdivisions of Habr Yunis Garhajis as well as the Biciide subdivisions of the Musa Abokor Habr Je'lo, all of which belong to the wider Isaaq clan.

The population in 2005 was 65,797 according to the OCHA survey.[2]
