EBTRON Inc. (short for "Energy," "Balancing," and "ElecTRONics") is a U.S.-based company that designs advanced airflow measurement and control systems.[1] [2]
EBTRON was founded in 1983 in Peapack, New Jersey, where the company developed its first thermistor-based airflow measurement device.[3] A year later, EBTRON expanded to Somerset, NJ, where it launched its TAM 1000 device. In the following years, the first microprocessor flow meter measuring both airflow and temperature and a backplane-equipped microprocessor flow meter was introduced. By 1988, EBTRON released the SB-2650 with an LCD transmitter box and, a year later, tested outdoor airflow measurement technology.[4]
In 1994, the company relocated to Loris, South Carolina, where it launched the Eliminator 3000, a compact insertion probe for improved airflow control.[5] The IAQ Enforcer System was introduced in 1995 to support indoor air quality enhancements. Adjustable fan inlet sensors and standalone X-head sensors were released in 1997 and 1998.[6]
EBTRON focuses on thermal dispersion airflow and psychrometric measurement solutions for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications such as airflow control in air handling units, laboratory pressurization, and VAV terminal monitoring.[7] [8]
