New Durham Township is one of twenty-one townships in LaPorte County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 8,105 (down from 8,664 at 2010[4]) and it contained 2,351 housing units.
An early settler being a native of Durham, New York, caused the name to be selected.[5]
The Pinhook Methodist Church and Cemetery was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of, of which (or 99.72%) is land and (or 0.28%) is water.[4]
New Durham Township is served by the Westville-New Durham Township Public Library.[6] Township residents may also request a free library card from any La Porte County Public Library branch.[7]
