Duncan is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hancock County, Iowa, United States. The population was 131 at the 2010 census.[2]
History
Duncan was platted in 1900.[3] The community's population was 25 in 1902,[4] and 20 in 1925.[5] The population was 75 in 1940.[6]
Geography
Duncan is located at 43.1044°N -93.7111°W,[7] east of Britt and west of Garner, along U.S. Route 18.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.05sqkm, of which 2.03sqkm is land and 0.02sqkm, or 0.90%, is water.[2]
Education
Duncan is a part of the Garner–Hayfield–Ventura Community School District. It was previously in the Garner–Hayfield Community School District,[8] which merged into the current GHV district on July 1, 2015.[9]
