Dracaena angustifolia explained

Dracaena angustifolia[1] is a species of Asian tropical forest under-storey plants in the family Asparagaceae; no subspecies are listed in the Catalogue of Life.

Distribution and description

The native range of this species is from Bangladesh, through Indo-China and Malesia to northern Australia.[2] In Vietnam the plant may be called phất dủ lá hẹp.

D. angustifolia is a shrub, up to 3m (10feet) high, with leaves 150mm250mm x 20mm30mm wide. The yellowish flowers are about 20mm long.

Use

The leaves are used to make green food coloring. D. angustifolia is used traditionally as medicine for several different ailments.[3] [4] It is also planted as a hedge. [4]
