Disoccupied Explained

Disoccupied is an American boycott website that lists global consumer brands supporting Israel based on the BDS guidelines.[1] The website first gained traction during the Gaza genocide.[2]

History

The site was founded by a Kashmiri and Palestinian couple in the Washington, D.C. area.[3] The couple spent hundreds of hours identifying brands that support the Israeli weapons industry, military, and broader Israeli economy over the course of the site's development.[4] [5] The site has been promoted by Code Pink.[6]

In 2024, the group launched 'Disoccupied 2.0,' a project seeking to expand the website's reach and include geo-specific results, category filters, user-to-company contact, and AI integration.[7] The website has been featured on Middle East Eye, TRT World, Middle East Monitor and The Siasat Daily among others.[8] [9]
