Dioctophymidae Explained

Dioctophymidae is a family of nematodes belonging to the order Ascaridida.^[1] Much older literature uses the alternative spelling "Dioctophymatidae" but this alternative spelling was suppressed by the ICZN in a 1987 ruling.^[2]
