Dinah Soar is a fictional superheroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.[1] Her name is a pun on the word "dinosaur".
Dinah Soar was created by John Byrne, and first appeared in West Coast Avengers vol. 2 #46 (July 1989).
Dinah Soar is a humanoid pterosaur from the Savage Land of unknown origin and a founding member of the Great Lakes Avengers.[2] [3] She is a lover of team leader Mr. Immortal who can calm the rage he suffers after resurrecting.[4] However, she is unable to speak English and primarily communicates with chirps.[5]
Dinah is later killed by Maelstrom, and comes to reside in a limbo-like afterlife with other deceased GLA members.[6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]
Dinah Soar possesses a pterosaur-like physiology that enables her to fly at high speeds. She has a hypersonic voice that allows her to project inaudible sound waves, as well as an empathic rapport capable of calming Mr. Immortal after he resurrects.[15] [16]
