Diane Landry (born 1958)[1] is a Canadian contemporary artist.[2] [3] Landry is known for her kinetic sculptural works and performances that utilize light, shadow, sound and movement.[4]
Work
In Landry's work École d'aviation, numerous motorized umbrellas with built-in accordions are installed so as to give the impression they are about to take off as they move.[5] [6] [7]
Awards
In 2007, she was awarded the inaugural Prix Giverny Capital for her contributions to Quebecois culture.[8] In 2014 Landry received the Jean Paul Riopelle Career Grant from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.[9] In 2015, Landry was a recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship in fine arts.[10] [11]
