David W. Sunday Jr. (born 1974 or 1975) is an American attorney and politician who is currently the Pennsylvania attorney general-elect. A member of the Republican Party, Sunday is the district attorney of York County.
After graduating from high school, Sunday served in the United States Navy from 1995 to 1999. He then graduated from Pennsylvania State University and the Widener University Delaware Law School. While attending school, he worked for UPS. He then joined the district attorney's office in York County, Pennsylvania, in 2009.
In 2013, the U.S. Department of Justice appointed Sunday as a special assistant U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Sunday won the 2017 election to serve as district attorney of York County,[1] and took office in 2018.[2]
In July 2023, Sunday announced his candidacy in the 2024 election for Pennsylvania Attorney General.[2] [3] He defeated Craig Williams in the Republican Party primary election[4] and defeated Democratic Party nominee Eugene DePasquale in the November general election.[5]
Sunday and his wife, Lishani, have a son.[6]
