Daniel “Danny” Felipe Mejía Romero is a Puerto Rican singer and beauty pageant titleholder who won the Mister World 2024 title on November 23, 2024, in Vietnam, becoming the first Puerto Rican to achieve this title.[1] [2] [3]
Danny was born in 1997 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is the youngest of five siblings with a Peruvian father and Spanish-Puerto Rican mother. He began his professional career in music and dance in 2010, performing in English, Spanish, and French. Mejía earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medical Studies from Stetson University in 2019 and obtained a mortgage loan officer license in Florida in 2020. In 2020, he faced the loss of his mother and appeared as a singer on the WAPA-TV show Vive la Tarde.[4]
Daniel participated in the 11th edition of Mister World, held on November 23, 2024, in Phan Thiết, Vietnam, competing against 60 contestants from around the globe. During the event, he excelled by winning both the Sports Challenge and the Talent Competition, earning a spot among the Top 20 semi-finalists in the grand finale. Ultimately, Daniel was crowned Mister World 2024 and received the sash and trophy from the outgoing titleholder, Jack Heslewood of England.[5] His victory marked a history as he became the first Puerto Rican to win the Mister World title.[6] [7] [8]
