Daniel E. Sutherland Explained

Daniel E. Sutherland is an American historian who has written books about 19th century America. He wrote a book titled The Confederate Carpetbaggers about southerners who moved north after the American Civil War.[1]

In 1997, The New York Times published his review of The Confederate War by Gary W. Gallagher.[2] He was part of a panel discussion on "The Civil War West of the Mississippi", broadcast in 2012 on C-SPAN.[3]
