Dama col mazzolino explained
Woman with Flowers (Italian: Dama col mazzolino or Italian: Gentildonna dalle belle mani) is a marble sculpture in height executed by Andrea del Verrocchio between 1475 and 1480.[1] [2] It is in the Bargello Museum in Florence.[1] [2]
The identity of the woman could be Fioretta Gorini, mistress of Giuliano de' Medici,[3] Lucrezia Donati, platonic love of Lorenzo il Magnifico,[4] or Ginevra d'Amerigo Benci, also portrayed in a painting by Leonardo da Vinci.[1]
Dama col mazzolino influenced Leonardo's Studies of hands.[5] It stands out for having the hands on the chest.
