The station consists of one ground-level island platform, connected to the small station building by a level crossing. The station is unattended.
Daianji Station opened on February 25, 1914 as a temporary stop by a local merchant who was also a shareholder in the Chugoku Railway. It was upgraded to an official station on November 23, 1928. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987, the station came under the aegis of the West Japan Railway Company. [2]
