Released in 1980, the Dismac D8000 was the first personal computer manufactured in Brazil.[1] [2] [3] [4] It was also the first Brazilian TRS-80 Model I clone.
It used a 2 MHz Zilog Z80A microprocessor, with 16KB of RAM and 16Kb of ROM (containing Level II BASIC). Video output was through a PAL-M television, displaying 64x16 or 32x16 characters text mode or 128x48 semigraphics. The keyboard contained 51 keys and was part of the case, like the cassette recorder and the main processor unit.[5]
The machine is considered rare, even in the Brazilian vintage computer market.[6]
