Cystocoleus Explained

Cystocoleus is a genus of lichen in the monotypic family Cystocoleaceae.^[1] Members of the genus are commonly called velvet lichens.^{[2] [3]}

It only contains one known species Cystocoleus ebeneus ^[4]

Former species;^[4]

• C. niger = Cystocoleus ebeneus
• C. rupestris = Rhacodiopsis rupestris, Herpotrichiellaceae family
