Cyprus was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1982 with the song "Greek, Modern (1453-);: Mono i agapi|i=no", written and performed by Anna Vissi. The Cypriot participating broadcaster, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), internally selected its entry for the contest.
Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) opened a submission period for Cypriot artists and composers to submit songs until 23 January 1982.[1] Each artist or composer were only allowed to submit up to two entries each. By the end of the submission period, CyBC had received 29 entries, of which four were invalid.[2] The internal selection took place on 16 February 1982 and the results of the internal selection were decided by a 9-member jury.[3] The competition consisted of multiple stages and in the final stage of the internal selection, five songs remained and "Greek, Modern (1453-);: Mono i agapi|i=no" by Anna Vissi was declared the winner.[4]
