Distribution

The species has a cosmopolitan distribution throughout the Caribbean, the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, the Mediterranean Sea and South America.[2]

Diet

The species feeds on small organisms such as diatoms, phytoplankton, archaea and larger protists.[3]
