Cotness is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Laxton, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated just to the north of the River Ouse, approximately 3miles south east of Howden.

History

Cotness was formerly a township in the parish of Howden,[1] in 1866 Cotness became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Laxton, Eastrington and Howden.[2] In 1931 the parish had a population of 24.[3]
