Corvus Glaive was created by writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Jim Cheung, and first appeared in Infinity: Free Comic Book Day (May 2013).[1]
The character was described by Hickman as "Thanos' most favored. Corvus is cruel, arrogant and the most loyal of the Black Order. A warrior who betrayed his people and sold his soul to Thanos to pursue a different kind of glory".[2]
Editor Tom Breevort has said:
Corvus Glaive is a member of Thanos' Black Order and the husband of fellow member Proxima Midnight.[3] His first order was attacking Earth to please his master.[4] He attacks the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, but is called away when Ebony Maw finds Thanos' son Thane.[5] Corvus is killed by Hyperion, but soon resurrects himself via his glaive.[6] [7] [8]
Corvus Glaive is later recruited into Namor's Cabal. After escaping the destruction of the multiverse via a "life raft", the Cabal end up on Battleworld and attack its residents. However, God Emperor Doom disperses the group throughout Battleworld, with Apocalypse imprisoning Proxima and Corvus.[9] [10] [11] [12] [13]
After the restoration of the multiverse, Corvus returns to the main universe and forms his own Black Order. However, he is confronted by Thanos and commits suicide rather than be killed by him.[14] [15]
During the "No Surrender" arc, Corvus Glaive is resurrected by the Challenger and battles the Grandmaster's Lethal Legion.[16] He is killed by Rogue, but quickly resurrects.[17] [18]
Corvus Glaive possessed the typical attributes of a super powered individual including super strength, speed, endurance, senses and some invulnerability. His namesake weapon gives him immortality and can be summoned to his hand at will.[19]
Corvus Glaive appears in media set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, voiced and motion-captured by Michael James Shaw.[21] [22]
