History and profile

Corriere delle dame was established in 1804.[2] [3] The founder was Carolina Arienti (also known as Carolina Lattanzi),[4] who was married to Giuseppe Lattanzi. She edited the magazine,[5] [6] which included articles about literature and theatre of France and Italy.[3] It targeted men, women and children.[3] However, it was mostly read by women from higher social classes.[7] The magazine is the origin of the Lombard costume.[4]

The magazine was published on a weekly basis.[6] The headquarters of Corriere delle dame was in Milan.[8] In 1811 the number of subscribers was 700.[6] The magazine existed until July 1875.[3] [9]
