Cormobates is a genus of bird in the Australasian treecreeper family. Its scientific name means ‘trunk-creeper’, from the Greek (Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: [[wikt:κορµός|κορµός]], ‘tree trunk’) and (Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: βάτης, ‘one who treads’).[1] [2]
