Colm Tóibín (in Irish ˈkɔl̪ˠəmˠ t̪ˠoːˈbʲiːnʲ/; born 30 May 1955) is an Irish novelist, short story writer, essayist, journalist, critic, playwright and poet.[1] He has won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Fiction, the International Dublin Literary Award, the Hawthornden Prize, the David Cohen Prize and the Folio Prize, amongst other awards.
Asked in 2021 how many articles he had written, Tóibín was uncertain: "I suppose thousands might be accurate", he told The New Yorker.
