Coenagrionoidea Explained

Coenagrionoidea is a superfamily of closed wing damselflies of the order Odonata found worldwide.

Families

A 2013 phylogenetic analysis suggests that this superfamily contains three families:^[1]

• Coenagrionidae Kirby, 1890
• Isostictidae Fraser, 1955
• Platycnemididae Yakobson & Bianchi, 1905

The family Pseudostigmatidae and New World Protoneuridae are now incorporated into Coenagrionidae and Old World Protoneuridae is now incorporated into Platycnemididae.
