Clanculus rarus explained
Clanculus rarus is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Trochidae, the top snails.
The description by Dufo was miserable and doesn't allow an undisputed definition. Paul Fischer (1835-1893) suggested that it should be relegated to the synonymy of Clanculus pharaonius.[1]
Description
The size of the shell attains 12 mm.
Distribution
This marine species occurs in the Indian Ocean off the Mascarene basin.
