Cirripectes Explained

Cirripectes is a large genus of combtooth blennies found throughout the Pacific and Indian oceans. Cirripectes biconvexus, an otolith based fossil species from the Burdigalian (Miocene) of southwestern India (Quilon Formation) is probably the earliest record of this genus.[1]
