Christopher J. Nassetta Explained
Christopher J. Nassetta (born 1964 in Arlington, Virginia) is an American businessman, who has served as president and chief executive officer of Hilton Worldwide since October 2007. He attended the University of Virginia and the London School of Economics.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] In June 2022, Nassetta was recognized by the International Hospitality Institute list featuring the 100 Most Powerful People in Global Hospitality.[9]
In his early career, Nassetta was the chief development officer of the real estate company, Oliver Carr Co.[10] In 1991, Nassetta cofounded Bailey Capital Corporation where he led real estate investments. He then joined Host Hotels & Resorts as executive vice president in 1995, and became the president and CEO of the company in 2000.[11]
Nassetta is married to Paige, his high school prom date and the daughter of former Arkansas congressman Ed Bethune.[12] The couple has six daughters.[13]
In 2023, Nassetta's total compensation from Hilton Worldwide was $26.6 million, up 13% from the previous year and representing a CEO-to-median worker pay ratio of 549-to-1 for that year.[14]
