Christian Langlois Explained

Christian Langlois (pronounced as /fr/) is a Canadian film and multimedia director and creative director - expert in entertainment, based in Montreal, Quebec. He has collaborated at several series, films, documentaries, varieties tv programs and cultural magazines, commercials films, music videos and immersive multimedia installations. He studied at Université du Québec à Montréal in communications programs: new media, digital cinema and video and advertising.

Career

After his graduate studies in new media and digital art, Christian began his career in electronic arts, video installations. His work was featured in several art institutions and foundations around the world. He was invited to the Danae Art Foundation in France and was a guest of the French Cultural Minister and the Mayor of Blois, Jack Lang, now President of the Arab World Institute in Paris.

Early in his career, he worked as a video director, and creative director, Christian co-found the creative lab at MusiquePlus, the Québecois MTV, dedicated to music videos, entertainment and pop culture programs. This innovative visual lab became a hub for digital experimentation and broadcast design, where he established his reputation as a trailblazer in tv branding and visual imaging. It received recognition from peers and the public, including awards such as the Prix Gémeaux and Promax.

With his impactful visuals and distinctive signature style, he move to a career in advertising as a film director and a creative contributor working for major brands in fashion, beauty, health, transportation, telecom,food,teen culture and extreme sports. Over the years, Christian has collaborated with leading creative agencies, completing more than 100 ad campaigns with various production companies globally, including Propaganda films (L.A.), Cinélande, Jet Films, Honey & Milk, (Prague) La Fabrique d'images, Radke, Partners, The Garden (Toronto), Satellite My Love (Paris), Les Enfants and Rodeo. He directed an interactive viral digital ad for OB, titled "A Personal Apology," which achieved significant social media success, garnering over 47 million views and winning 22 international awards.[1]

His creative director, lead design and director work has taken him across the globe, as far afield as Mongolia, working on the brand image of a national TV channel, MongolTV He has created opening sequences for prestigious series such as Marie-Antoinette and Versailles for Canal+ and BBC, for series Acceptable Risk and Hidden Assetsfor Rte One, Sundance Channel, Primevideo, Britbox, Acorn. He contributed to the success of documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada on global issues, Middle Eastern politics, new journalism, and remote work: Working different, High wire, Freelancer on the front line.

Recently, Christian has been involved in the creation of immersive experiences and digital activation for airport terminals, museums, and cultural districts, collaborating with renowned institutions like Newark airport, National Geographic and the Smithsonian on XR experiences.

His work has earned him numerous prestigious awards, Cannes Lions, Clio, SXSW, Lia, The Bessies, Webby, Promax BDA, David Ogilvy and Applied Arts.
