Christopher George Paul Garia (born 16 December 1992) is a Dutch sprinter and former baseball player from Curaçao.[1] Garia won the 60 metres at the 2018 Dutch National Indoor Championships in a time of 6.70 seconds. He was also a member of the Dutch national baseball team before completing his transformation to sprinter.[2]
Garia played for the Texas Rangers organization.
Garia was also selected for the Netherlands national baseball team for the, the 2016 European Baseball Championship, the exhibition games against Japan in 2016 and the training camp in the United States in 2017
On 25 August 2016 he was selected for the 2016 France International Baseball Tournament.[3]
On 7 September 2016 he was selected for the 2016 European Baseball Championship.[4]
On 26 October 2016 he was selected for the exhibition games against Japan.[5]
On 7 February 2017 he was selected for the training camp in the United States.[6]
On 9 February 2017 he was selected for the 2017 World Baseball Classic,[7] but on 26 February 2017 he cancelled.[8]
