Chowerup is a rural locality of the Shire of Boyup Brook in the South West region of Western Australia.[1] [2]
The Shire of Boyup Brook is located on the traditional land of the Bibulman (also spelled Bibbulmun or Pibelmen)[3] [4] and Kaniyang (also spelled Kaneang) people,[5] [6] both of the Noongar nation, with the locality of Chowerup located on the land of the Kaniyang people.[7] [8]
The heritage-listed Chowerup Hall, dating back to 1923, is located within the locality, having functioned as a local school until 1950.[9]
